Munroe Island, the sarting point


Chittumala Theerthatanam is a pedestrian march conducted during Onam every year. It starts from Karootharakkadavu in Munroeisland in Kollam district and leads to Chittumala. (Kerala, India). It started in 1968. The founder Prof. K O Johnson of East Kallada is now with St Gregorius College Kottarakkara. Other members of the founder team are N Raman, D Jayachandran, K Sudhakaran and K Radhakrishnan

  1. This onfoot pilgrimage is divine yetan adventurous one. The pilgipil first visit the Chitumala devi and submit their Kanikka .Then they stay under the divine banayan tree
    Pay homage to ' Komban aana Manikantan', the hero behind the love story that staged in Mathilakathu Kottaram.
    Then they sit in meditation on the Jonson rocks onton northern slopes of chittumala hills, where so many love birds dwelled dreams or lost dreams.
    Await the next season.
